Okay, being serious now: most of the spammers I have seen here
recently are not coming from one set place, they are coming from all
over. So unless you report each one individually, there is no way to
catch the current batch. I blame sending them all to Salvation and
then giving them email access :-)

The hell of it is that most of the spam, apparently, HAS been filtered
out by my provider. However, I received word this morning that
they've extended their retention period and it resulted in a
renumbering of ALL of my messages. I had to download the headers from
scratch, which in itself wasn't too bad for this group. Having done
that, a whole batch of spam messages popped up from the last few days
that I know I didn't have to deal with before. I hope they get back
to filtering that crap out.

Oh, what Forte just did was horrible. I use my newsreader to keep track
of what I've read, and I've had a heavy backlog to read, and now -- pfft
-- it's all shot to hell, everything has been marked read, and when I
grabbed new headers, there's a TON of spam I'd never seen before.

I'm about ready to give up on either Forte/APN or text-based Usenet in
general. Anyone out there want to take over the posting of the "Ads and
Auctions" FAQ?

The spam I've received since that action seems to have settled down. I
can only assume that telling the service to download "all" headers
bypassed the Agent's filters I may have had in place.

I can't give up on usenet. Some of my finest viewing comes from
there.
