Always thought him and Captain Marvel had similiar powers.

They were powered by a different group of gods and heroes. BA was
largely Egyptian gods that spelled out Shasta. The big red cheese got
his powers from Greek/roman/Judeo-Christian sources that spelled out
Shasta..
