Well yeah, but it doesn't make sense in the story.
Then again, it was written by Ron Marz, so what did you expect.

It makes perfect sense...Hal couldn't let go so he tried to use his
powers to bring people back from the dead which lead to madness...just
as Kyle couldn't let his mom go and tried to bring her back...he just
realized his mistake before he went too far.
