Any artist or writer trying to "satisfy the audience" gets a big stamp
on their head in my little black book. It says "DEAD. DON'T BOTHER."
Besides, you're wildly exaggerating. THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN is
perfectly in line with Batman's character, as is ALL-STAR BATMAN.
It's the storytelling which gets people riled up, because it's nothing
like what you'd have expected from THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS or "Year
One."
