A quick look at Phyllis Coates or Noel Neill shows that he isn't. The word
"kids" isn't always restricted to minors. I will occasionally use it to
refer to my younger brother and sister (ages 44 and 42). It was used
affectionately about anyone a couple of years younger than the speaker, just
as a 70 year old man is occasionally called "young fella" in rural New
England.
