Perhaps they are given a second chance of life? Say for example, if
What's odd is that the Guardians believed that it was wrong to witness
the beginning of the universe. Why would creatures of science and
order not want to know something?
They put that in place after Krona looked and released evil magic into
the universe. (Actually, I think it was just magic, but since that's
disorderly, they probably considered it evil.)
If you use Sandman (and not all will, despite its crossover into DCU
continuity at various points), we know that Hell is an option. That
is, no one is actually condemned to go there except by personal
choice. The problem is that people don't relize this, thing they
belong in Hell, and end up there.
Personally, I don't like that concept. There ARE people who belong in
Hell, and I find a theology that would allow a Joker or Hitler
entrance to Heaven offensive.
I don't agree. Eternal torture just doesn't hold up under scrutiny,
especially if you suppose that the Earthly victims end up in a heavenly
realm. And when have you ever heard of people being released from Hell
after a specific sentence?
someone is "evil" ( yes, there are evil people, but I haveta wonder,
outside of untreated mental illness that is say allowed escalate, thru
either abuse of a substance, or a person not being diagnosed correctly,
how did these people become evil? What experiences in life made them
that way?) and they die and go to hell, serve their penance, and then
will they be given a second chance of life? Will they, possibly,
undergo "reincarnation" where they are reborn as the lowest lifeform
on earth, and then die, coming back as something better, maybe a flea,
then dieing and coming back as a fly and so on and so on. Yes they
serve their sentence, but do all criminals serve the same time? Will a
Pedophile, serve the same time as a murderer in Hell? What if the
murderer regrets his crime, and wishes to repent?
While I still believe in God, and I was raised a Catholic, I never
stuck to it, and religion, instead, I grasped onto everything, from
every religion, and I made up my own mind about everything. Like Bill
Maher, partially, he hates religion, but believes in god, I, on the
onther hand, dislike having to stick to one religion, and one belief
system, as to me, that is not getting the whole message, it's just
sticking to one, limited outlook. Not that I am saying that everyone
should believe in a higher power, or follow my beliefs, ( I'm no Tom
Cruise).
