Ebooks have been around for quite some time now. Its popularity however is

You might have wondered and formed your opinion about this strange fact.
It's strange only to techno-enthusiasts. You need and must be able to
afford a computer or some other electronic gizmo to read an e-book.
These factors alone will limit the spread of e-books.
Once you have the computer, you have to learn how to use the damned
thing. You must have a reliable power supply, and you are at the mercy
of software geeks and hardware glitches. E-book formats may be
subject to rapid obsolescence, requiring the purchase of new hardware
and/or software for the next generation of e-books.
OTOH, once you know how to read, there's nothing new to learn in order
to use a book.
Books are more portable, and many people find the printed page easier
on the eyes than a CRT or other electronic display. And it's a hell of
a lot easier to flip through the pages of a book than to search for
pages in an e-book.
