whole year 1863(Vol. 23) of the monthly farm magazine, 'The American
Agriculturist'. A bonus is the last 3 months of 1862 also bound in.

The Illustrated Annual Register of Rural Affairs and Cultivator Almanac
for 1856, No. 2
Albany NY, Luther Tucker and Son. 1856. Soft Cover. Illustrated. This
antique almanac has a brown heavy paper cover with black cover
lettering and illustration showing a bucolic landscape dotted with
sheep and cows. Cover is chipped at corners, foxed; inner pages show
some transfer of print from page to page, but overall clean.
Embellished with 150 engravings, this is the second half of the
almanac, which was started the year before,and published in continuous
pagination in two volumes. The following year would continue the
continuous pagination form; complete unto itself. The almanac contains
information regarding tides, the moon's phases, and other standard
almanac fare, but also a staggering variety of data about house
building, farm building construction, ornamental planting, cheese and
butter making and detailed info about different species of apple, pear
and peach, to name a few. 138 pages; aprox. 4"x7". Good.

is bound in dark green cloth with gilt spine lettering and etched
designs on the front cover. Some cover wear/soil; spine slightly
cocked; some soil to endpapers, but most inner pages clean. The author
describes a system by which a small farm can be cultivated to produce
the highest possible returns. 255 pages, plus advertisements; approx.
5"x8". Very Good/No Jacket.
