yttrstein, i thought you were a bit more clueful and understanding. perhaps i've overestimated you all these years?

Define /this surgery/, yttrstein. She provided a link that stated she's
having a weight loss surgery procedure called the Duodenal Switch.
Another RABbit had successful weight loss surgery and, apparently,
ended up changing their lifestyle as a result.

So, by this surgery, did you mean Duodenal Switch specifically -
because I don't think the other RABbit had that surgery type - or did
you mean to say the *second* person?

if you're referring to me, i did indeed have this surgery type - the duodenal switch. and yes, i have had great success with it and have made major lifestyle changes. was it an easy choice to make? hell no. was recovery easy? hell no. would i do it again? hell yes.

what most of y'all fail to see is that weight loss surgery, like a diet and/or a workout plan or whatever route/method you choose, is simply a tool. work with what you have in front of you, make your choices and live your life. for those of you that have been able to lose major amounts of weight (like 186 pounds) without resorting to surgery - kudos to you. for those of you that say it's a simple as "getting off the couch and putting down the potato chips," you really have *no* idea what it's like to be in a position to need to lose something like 186 pounds. and if you ever find yourself in that position, here's hoping you have all of the tools available to you when you need them.

that having been said, best wishes Jess. you're right that it's going to be a tad bit painful for a few days (by now you're probably in recovery and hopefully they've got you on a pump or even better, an epidural), and your life IS going to change. now it's totally up to YOU to make that change work for you.
