Why exactly are you still using *Netscape*, rather than even the now-outdated Mozilla suite?

It works, would be my guess.

I still use Netscape for email; I stopped using it for News because
for some reason it got screwed up and would lock on a couple
groups.

Trying this out on SeaMonkey to see if it works, and...okay, take it
there a reason why SM is visually identical to Netscape in almost
every way--
Anything under the hood I should know about?

Seamonkey is directly descended from Netscape, by way of two
rebrandings. It's more or less the same program at heart. I could go
into the history if you'd like, but it's not exactly on topic here;
Wikipedia has a halfway decent coverage of the subject, though at a
glance it looks like you have to dig in several different articles for
the whole story.

(As for using Apple's e-mail client:
Have the new Leopard versions since switched away from old
Outlook-based models, whose name alone terrifies any smug
virus-resistant Mac user thumbing his nose at pathetic Windows
victims?)

Derek Janssen (if it an e-mail client even *resembles* MS Outlook,
I'm running for the hills before the hackers get me)

I feel something of the same way, but I've been informed that using
anything other than the provided software (which is limited to Outlook
and the Web-based version thereof) for accessing my work E-mail account
will at the very least get me in people's bad books and may well get me
fired. Only they didn't put it quite so politely.
