The discussion is currently only in RAAM. This RFD has not been
submitted. Please voice your opinion, even if it is only to say "Me,
too."
===================================

As there is currently no established format for a sub-hierarchical
reorganization, I am going to wing it....

REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION (RFD)
Reorganization of the rec.arts.anime.* sub-hierarchy

This is a formal Request for Discussion (RFD) for the creation of the
unmoderated newsgroup rec.arts.anime.

Rob - I just checked and "nntp.aioe.org" doesn't allow me to access
"rec.arts.anime".

Your news service (nntp.aioe.org) is not supposed to let you have access to
rec.arts.anime at this time, as it does not officially exist. The fact that
aioe won't give you access, merely by your requesting it, is a strong sign
that they _will_ make it available if it is officially created, when this
process is completed. In any case, raam would remain for at least 6 months
after the return of raa, to allow time for us to deal with any transfer
problems, before a seperate request is made to remove it.

I am not a fan of using Google Groups for posting to r.a.a.m. because of
the number of regulars who have "GG" posts blocked because of spam
problems.

I don't want to bother to pay to join some newsgroup service again - I've
done it enough times in the past and then seen the place disappear almost
immediately.

So my recommendation is that you leave r.a.a.m. alone for now. If you
think that it is truly important to get rid of r.a.m. and you can get rid
of it without goofing up r.a.a.m. and the general Usenet hierarchy for
anime, go ahead. Otherwise leave things as they are.

Thanks -

Dave Baranyi
