So . . . can anyone tell what Marissa is saying?:

The first two Kanji are really hard to make out, especially
the first blob. There's a recognizeable two-stroke radical on it,
though, and the second character only has one common combination where
it follows a high-stroke character with that radical, "sonaetsuke,"
meaning equipment or provision. 'Kau' is most commonly "to buy," and
'takunai' is, I think, "I don't want."

"I don't want to buy any equipment," is about my best guess.

Elf (whose Japanese studying this weekend included
euphemisms for various body parts and the onomatopoeia (holy cow, my
dictionary says I spelled that correctly) for "to spank playfully.")

We got into this in the official forum. She's saying "I don't want to hurt
his feelings, so..."

Bizarre. I totally do not get that from the characters
presented.
