What player and what subtitles do you use? Most players has options to
skew subtitles...
In general - editing subtitles with software like Subtitle Workshop
(support srt, ssa, ass) will help. But if subtitles have broken timing
(not simply constant backlog or advancing on time) - you need to edit
timing by hands.

I use WMP 10, VLC player, Real Player, MPlayer, QuickTime Player,
Windows Media Classic player, Divx Player. How can these players skew
subtitles?
Subtitles have constant backlog or advancing on time or different film
duration usually. Does Subtitle Workshop edit subtitles during
playback?
