I uninstalledhttp://www.cccp-project.net, VLC Player and MPlayer.

Try installing CCCP again, and make sure you install Media Player Classic.
After installation, start Media Player Classic, go to View -> Options, then
click on Output on the left side, and choose Haali's Video Renderer. Try
playing another video then. If you get an error message, or if no video
appears (or if you still get the pink stripe), go to Options again, and
choose VMR7 (windowed), and restart the player (and try the other VMR
options if the pink stripe isn't eliminated).

Because 10 billion years' time is so fragile, so ephemeral... it arouses
such a bittersweet, almost heartbreaking fondness.
Thanks ender for your suggestion!
The stripe disappeared after "disabling all DirectDraw and Direct3D
accelerations, as well as all cursor and advanced drawing
accelerations" - lowering Hardware acceleration 3 steps down on the
Troubleshoot tab in the video card properties.
The video card driver is the latest.
