Why did they have to make this so complicated!?

Adds to the mystique- hooks viewers in Japan into the show. Might be
that writers/directors/creators are running out of ways to make
shows seem new.

Or a Todai MBA beancounter. ^_^

That was my point.
Until an official reason comes out, we can only hope the genius
was for artistic reason and not, say, financial or whimsical, etc.

Financial genius is genius, just the same.

I did call it that.

Seriously, what the hell is it with the hatred for profit, these days?

People seem to hate beancounters making the decisions,
especially involving gimmicks,
even if the decision turns out to be very profitable.

For instance, Tokyopop is piggybacking on the manga name
for their OEL manga. It's profitable for them,
but many people don't like that gimmick.

Another is Wings of Honneamise, a title Sony(?) execs imposed on Gainax
because they deem "__ of __" was the style of the day (yet works, yes?).
But to this day, Gainax hates that and still calls it Royal Space Force.

I'd guess to people, financial genius leaves them a bit hollow
for not having a deeper meaning to their obsession.

Anyways, so what if the reason for the Haruhi broadcast order
was by a beancounter or even a whimsy comment by a janitor?
It still works, right? (Though it may crush some fans.)
Then maybe we can have said genius speak at an AX panel. ^_^

Laters. =)
