So, I've been restraining myself from responding to the trolls
and spammers that started showing up here. Has it really made
that much difference? I haven't noticed any indication that they
have given up and gone away due to boredom. In fact, I'm seeing
more each day, and it's hard to keep the killfile updated. I
am willing to bet they don't even think about this group, since
we seem to be accepting their antics as normal. I'm ready to
start fighting back, but if no one else cares, I'm not going to
bother. If it gets bad enough I'll move on to whatever online
blogs I feel like contributing to, and the trolls can have yet
another playground to add to their collection. Broken windows,
and all that.

(... and no, I'm not going to say how I'll "fight back", other
than to say it'll be legal ...)

Complain to the providers but I just delete the at the sight
of the "0" and if I find any more I delete them too, It saves me
a lot of time. If you let the spammers get to you it will bother
you much more than your agitation will bother them. As a matter
of fact if you show them you are agitated they will feel fufilled.

They will eventually go away and might go faster with complaints
to service providers though they may be misusing other people acccounts
to start with.
