whitelisted those contributors to this group who (for some reason) feel
the need to use Google Groups to post here. That takes care of most
trolling. The remaining troll-feeders can easily be killfiled by thread
or by address.
I am willing to bet they don't even think about this group, since we
seem to be accepting their antics as normal.
The problem is, that the troll starts his thread by crossposting to
various (unrelated) groups without a followup, and the troll-feeders
keep crossposting to all groups, because they're too retarded to adjust
the Newsgroups header.
I'm ready to start fighting back, but if no one else cares, I'm not
going to bother. If it gets bad enough I'll move on to whatever online
blogs I feel like contributing to, and the trolls can have yet another
playground to add to their collection. Broken windows, and all that.
I wouldn't object to fighting back, however, there's not much prospect
of success in it AFAICS.
