Actually, an "internet" is actually "internets", since "it" is a
set of connections between networks, so you basically have networks
of networks, which we conceive of as a single "Internet". But, if
you want to go by how IP addresses and domain names are parcelled
out, you could say there's a US internet, a European internet, an
Asian internet, each of which can be broken down by country or
backbone provider.
