I need an example of fan outrage that forced copyright holders/authors to
make a change, something on the level of resurrecting Sherlock Holmes and
"Han shot first."
Hmm. Off the top of my head:
Censored manga: The whole Tenjou Tenge debacle.
Dub-only DVD releases: Cardcaptors, and the outcry which eventually led to
Pioneer releasing subtitled-only Cardcaptor Sakura DVDs.
IIRC, Pioneer agreed to release the sub-only version in response
to a letter writing campaign before the dub ever aired.
