Are you referring to Mako the Mermaid

Just the first episodes follow, very losely, Andersen's tale, specially
with the fact that Mako could talk.

I think he was referring to the feature film that was released in the US on
VHS as "Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid". I believe he got
the date wrong. Anderusen Dowa Ningyo Hime, the movie, I believe was
released in 1975.


Yeah, I have that dub. And I believe, so does Sobieniak.
Too bad it can't be widely shown to kids because of the scaly nipples.

And the grittier ending.
