Escaflowne box set, better quality?

I noticed that Bandai released an 8 DVD box set of Vision of Escaflowne
recently.
I've rented the older DVDs before and was kind of disappointed with the
quality, there was lots of artefacting and rainbowing due to a bad job
dealing with a composite video source I guess.
I haven't found any press releases or other information about this box
set, other than that it was released and what the series itself is about,
so does anyone know if the content on the discs is the same as on the
older DVDs (which would be my guess or they would've squeezed it on fewer
than 8 DVDs), or can I expect higher quality?
