Besides, according to research (given enough time, I could give you cites),
diagramming has no demonstrable effect on writing skills. It only improves
one's ability to diagram. The only thing that actually does improve one's
grammar in the context of writing is extensive reading. Applying correct
grammar in one's writing is dependent on the ability to recognize the
patterns of written language, gained through extensive reading, and then
using that knowledge of those patterns in one's own writing.
