Another advantage of reading this newsgroup is some of the comments
people make on the differences between the Japanese and English
versions, most of which I probably wouldn't notice because I don't
speak Japanese. Sometimes subtle things make a big difference. I
usually check the Japanese audio track with English subtitles to make
sure that everything on the DVD works fine, but that of course is only
when I have a DVD... and I usually only fully watch the dubbed version
anyway out of laziness. And of course not only are the dubs sometimes
inaccurate, but the subtitles too since it still has to be
translated... there is more room for specifics with subtitles, but
that still doesn't mean the translation is exact.

I can't remember whether she told us his name before or not...

"A military operation involves deception. Even though you are
competent, appear to be incompetent. Though effective, appear to be
ineffective." - Sun Tzu, if I remember correctly...

This part seemed like a nightmare to me, at least on my second viewing
(when I watched the DVD).

Maybe it's magic, like the birds (or non-birds) later on in this
episode? :)

Many things about this show are sadly realistic... like the fact that
the people go back to believing in Cornello (even though it's not
Cornello the second time around) blindly just as before.

Being nothing but a soul in a suit of armor is bad... being partially
human and partially automail is bad... but which is worse? Hmm...

I thought Rose was a believable character for this reason... she's
angry that her hope has been taken away, even if it was false... which
implies maybe part of her knew all along... it's just that now she
can't even pretend anymore. I feel sorry for her...

If she keeps doing that, her legs won't be healthy anymore...
