Kamich! #8 cultural reference (no spoiler)



1) butsudan [home altar]
Traditional Japanese house have a small Buddhist altar
that looks like a wall pit where are some memorial tablets
of deceased ancesters. People pray and offer candles and incense sticks to the altar.


2) chouchin ankou [lantern anglerfish]
  has an organ that looks like a lantern and glows to attract
  small fishes. Ankou is quite good for "nabe" [pot-boiled
  dish].

3) "ramune ari[/]"
in which "[/]" reads "masu" because it's a symbol of masu
[a small measuring box]. So, the whole sentence reads "ramune arimasu" [ramune available].
