Problem creating slices

Hello,
Here's some background info. I've been busy lately rebuilding the
firewall computer to use chrooted jails for some key services like
named, dhcpd, ident, ntpd, and the like. What I'm trying to do is
create each jail with it's own slice of the disk so it someone
compromises that service, they cant run the disk out of space and cause
a problem on the system.
The problem is that sysinstall will not let me create a slice beyond
ad0s1h for some reason. It just keeps putting X for the device name. I
have tried running in single user mode, and I have tried booting off a
CD to no avail. It says there is some kind of problem with the nodes in
/dev? I would perfer to have each jail with it's own isolated peice of
the harddisk. Is there a limit to how many slices that can be on a disk
or partition?
