In that case I believe the series was not renewed due to poor ratings, so
it's hard to tell if there was any intent to finish it. The problem is, if
it had been popular they would have kept the story going indefinately and
likely never have resolved it.
Internet and urban legends persist that there are 'lost' episodes
resolving DUNGEONS & DRAGONS and PIRATES OF DARK WATER.
There isn't a lost episode of D&D, but there is supposed to be a script of a
final episode that was never made. However, it's uncertain whether this was
a fan script or a legitimate script that was written after the series was
cancelled. I suspect the writers wanted a conclusion but the producers
didn't. I also think PoDW may have been written with the intent of going
more than one season in the hopes of a proper conclusion. Out of all the
shows, it's a shame PoDW wasn't finished since it actually seemed to be
going somewhere.
One show that will (hopefully) be getting a proper conclusion will be
Reboot. The show never finished it's fourth year (ABC only ran the first
two) so it never had a proper resolution.
