The things people can do with 'em nowadays didn't exist yet, they were
just portable telephones and nothing else.


Technology...wow!

One of the negative byproducts of technology, in my opinion, is the shorter
attention span, and the need for instant gratification, and the criminal use
of acronyms. Most of the time I can figure out what an acronym is meant to
communicate, but sometimes I can't. The fact that we as a society are in
such a rush (to get where? exactly, I don't know) we can't even take time to
spell out complete words at our PCs and MACs...go figure!?! I believe that
*texting* is charged by the letter, so I understand limited use of letters
and numbers. But to skip a few keystrokes to the detriment of communication
is a *social* mistake.

Now, if the cellphones could do my washing and cook my meals!!! I had a
cellphone for about three years to keep in touch with my partner, but he
passed away three years ago...I immediately got rid of my cellphone...hate
'em!

....otherwise, life is good!
