Re: AquaC EV120 or Euro-Reef CS6-2

I've never run a Euro-Reef, but I've had my EV-180 on my lightly stocked 72gal for about 2 years.  With the recommended mag7, most of the skimmate coated the inside of the riser tube and very little got pushed into the cup.  So I upgraded to a mag9.5 and now I can open the air valve and fill the cup in about 3 seconds or close it and skim very dry.  It is very sensitive to this adjustment, but I have it tuned to fill the cup up to the drain in about 24 hrs.  It overflows into a container, but I normally empty it and wipe off the inside daily.  Anyway, I would recommend an EV, but with slightly more pump than recommended by AquaC.

Inherited a "Red Sea Berlin Classic" skimmer with reef tank and from what we've read, starting to understand that these are not very good skimmers.

Planning on an upgrade ASAP and am looking at these two for a 125 gallon system. Completely new at this and any recommendations on these two or maybe another brand/model that we're not aware with would be appreciated.

TIA
