Vintage Stereoview - Japanese Beheading Chinese Prisoner
This Vintage Underwood & Underwood Stereoview Card is of the Japanese
Soldiers cutting off the head of a Chinese prisoner. The card is in
excellent condition. The card is titled, (Criminal Kneeling Over His Own
Grave - Japanese Executioner Beheading a Condemned Chinese). The picture is
showing a Japanese soldier swinging his sword to chop off the head of a
Chinese man. The Chinese man is kneeling with his head bowed. The Soldiers
superior officer is watching. In the background are other Japanese soldiers
in uniform carrying guns and walking around. The backside of the cards says
(Criminal Kneeling Over his own grave - Japanese executioner beheading a
condemned Chinese - Tientsin, China). This is written in English, German,
Russian, French, and two other languages). The left side on the front says,
(Underwood & Underwood Publishers, New York, London, Toronto-Canada,
Ottawa-Kansas). The right side on the front says, (Works & Studios,
Orilington, N.J., Littleton, N.H., Washington D.C.). The bottom of the card
on the front says (Copyright 1901, by Underwood & Underwood).
The card is in excellent condition and has no damage. There are no tears,
scratches, bends, folds, water stains, warping, or any other damage. This is
a very unique gruesome photograph.
