What do you mean by post-mode? You can set edit hooks for a default
mode. Mine is set to text fill. I am using Emacs and slrn and
mixmaster.
Post mode is a major mode for email and usenet messages. See
http://post-mode.sourceforge.net/. The debian package is "post-el".
That is a new one on me but that means nothing.
What sort of emacs hook do you use? I can only think of a hook based
on the file extension, but I would not want all *.txt files to
automatically invoke post-mode.
Right, in my case text fill is always appropriate even posting through
Mixmaster. What does post mode offer you over text fill?
Mixmaster is hard-coded to use a .txt extension. I exceptionally want
post-mode to be used for slrn and mixmaster messages, and something that's
sensible for plain text on all other text files.
I wonder if you could set the hook with some elisp code based on msg
contents.
BTW, I had trouble replying to you because to crossposted, and for
some reason having two newsgroups in the header messes up the hand-off
to mixmaster.
That is strange. I didn't intentionally cross post so it must have been from
the post I replied to. Also I have no trouble replying to cross posts from
slrn>mix>emacs. Maybe this is a reason to avoid the post mode???
