I am running Vista. Whenever I open Help in Gravity, I get error 1037.
After I subscribe to a Newsgroup, right click, and select Download
headers, nothing happens. the first time I did it, I got fed up,
uninstalled the program, reinstalled the program, and the headers were
there. Now I unsubscribed from the group, then resubscribed, and I
cannot get headers.
Ok I just unsubscribed again and resubscribed. Immediately I saw a
momentary blue progress bar that filled and vanished. That's it - no
headers visible. Very frustrating.
Microsoft changed the help file format in Vista. The current help file works
in XP but not in Vista, a new help file is being created.
As to the downloading articles;
On the menu bar, go to Server, then Properties. Select the Operation tab.
Make sure:-
"Retrieve headers for subscribed groups upon connecting" - is checked
"Retrieve headers for group automatically after subscribe" - is checked
"limit headers" - is not checked
Also select the newsgroup you're having problems with, then again on the
menu bar goto Newsgroup, Properties and ensure "Sample this group" is not
checked.
