I want to see a crosspost in all the groups it is sent to.
If a crosspost is downloaded, then Xnews shows the article in the
first group but hides the article in the other crossposted groups.
Which parameter determines this behavior?
There is no setting in Xnews for this. When any article is read, it
is *always* automatically marked as "read" in all other subscribed
groups.
One workaround is not subscribing to any groups.
Another workaround is to always do a "Catchup" after reading a group.
Doing this will place a " 1 - xxxxx " in the "Read" column in the
Group window for that group. Later, as cross-posted articles are
marked as read, their article numbers will be added to this column
which will then look like " 1 - xxxx, yyyyy, zzzzz" etc. Then, to
"bring back" the crossposted articles: before opening a group, view the
Group window and right-click on the numbers in the "Read" column. This
will allow you to edit these numbers... simply delete everything after
the initial "1-xxxxx" part. Pressing "Enter" completes the edit, then
opening the group will view all articles since your last catchup.

John
