Do we know that the GG profiles do not include XNA posts, which
seems to be your assumption? If GG does archive them but only
refuses to *display* them, as has been suggested here, then the
profiles could include XNAs.

The GG profile *does* include posts with XNA, and will even show them
on the "calendar" of posting history for a group.

Then the part of Ackerman's posting history that Mike Easter posted
that was based on GG Profiling is invalid with respect to Ackerman's
XNA-versus-Normal-Post ratio.

I explained how and why I interpreted what I posted.

I posted a GG posting history link which included a *LOT* of SA posts
from the past, which would all be non-xna. That same GG link also
/included/ SA posts in n.s.r. which were SA XNA but unexpired. At
this time, that unexpired xna condition is very very dynamic, with the
xna posts expiring as we post here. As the xna posts expire, they
disappear from GG (but not your newsreader).

Once more: they disappear from GG *viewing*, but not from the GG
*archive*, so they seem to be reflected in the Profile/History figured
you quoted, without differentiation from the NOT-XNA posts.

You haven't made your point clear to me about what your meaning of 'they
disappear from GG viewing but not from the GG archive' means to you.

When you are talking about what is reflected in profile/history it seems
to me that you are perhaps talking about numbers of posts or something,
whereas what I was talking about what I can see (in terms of readable
posts) if I access a posting history from clicking on what GG calls an
author's profile (which isn't actually a profile because GG requires that
a particular author create a true profile which is a separate body of
information from what GG provides in the profile view as a posting history
even if there isn't a set of information which an author has decided to
provide as profile information).

That is; if I click Steve Ackman's 'profile' (I'm putting that in single
quotes because that is the term that GG gives me to click on) then I'm
given access to both SA's posting history, which comes in two different
formats, a table, a number summary, and a set of links to all of the
actual posts -- as well as some information which SA could have provided
to GG but he didn't.

Then, perhaps you are bickering about whether or not the actual number of
posts in the various groups is accurate on not based on whether or not
they had XNA or not.

That isn't what I'm talking about, exactly. I'm talking about that if I
want to see SA's posts by searching on them in GG and I can get to those
posts in various ways including via the 'profile' click, then the posts I
get to see do not include the XNA posts --

..... but, if we are in a dynamic phase of SA's postings to n.s.r, then GG
profile is going to include SA's actual readable posts which are either
never XNA, or were XNA but haven't expired yet -- and/but the GG
availability of readability of SA's posts which are both XNA and expired
will not be readable or even 'findable' as an actual post, not some kind
of number tally count.

I know that for a fact because I have investigated that side of the
availability question. I have not investigated the count of messages
question. I have not seen/found an expired SA XNA post. I cannot comment
on whether or not GG chooses to count the number of XNA messages which
were previously posted but which have now expired in some kind of a
profile count tally.
