I just downloaded 40Tude Dialog to use as both a newsreader and a default
e-mail reader, and I have some questions to which I can't find the answers
in the help files.
Good luck!
I use Dialog when I need to handle Cyrillic text.
Can I set up multiple email accounts per Identity? If not, is there an
option to receive all mail from all identities at once into the same Inbox?
I use an inbox for each identity. Simpler.
I don't find that as good enough. I am but one man, I need no multiple
identities. For now :)
How can I set up message rules so that messages from certain people, or
messages that arrive to a certain account I've set up, or messages with
certain words in the subject line, get redirected to folders other than
Inbox automatically upon download?
Sounds like you need a "script". I don't dabble in those.
Mail that contains HTML doesn't display properly (images aren't shown). How
do I fix this?
Do you *really* want to?
Isn't that one way in which malware is spread?
Better to have only "local" rendering.
Yes, I *really* want to. I get HTML emails from work, associations I'm a
member of, as well as some colleagues and I've never had malware delivered
to me. SPAM yes, but never malware. If it's such a big issue, then perhaps
HTML emails can be filtered before display so as to remove any <script>
tags or <img> tags with src property set to something other than a picture
(like a php script or such)?
Is it possible to set the program to automatically mark messages as read
immediately as they are displayed on screen? I can see the option which
says 'Automatically mark messages as read after ... secs' but it doesn't
let me enter how many seconds I want to wait (in my case that's zero).
Yes, I have noticed that displaying a message does not always mark it as
read. Peculiar!
You need to hit 'x' to mark a message as read if you don't check the option
I mentioned. But that seems annoying to me so I just use the option to mark
as read automatically.
