Just started using Xnews. I am unable to post to server:

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

What happens when you try to post?

Nothing happens. Should I see an error of some sort? On an unrelated
issue your sig is automatically trimmed off. I remember Xnews asking
me somthing about trimming messages but now I can't find where to turn
this trim feature off at. Do know how to turn off this automatic
trimming behaviour? Thanks for replying

You can't, that's proper functioning for a newsreader to snip a .sig that
is properly configured. It isn't something that is configurable within
Xnews to my understanding.

You'll note that my Xnews snipped *your* .sig, because it too is properly
configured. Gotta love how Xnews operates within Usenet standards, eh?

Why would you want to include a .sig in your response?

In answer to your other question, yes, there should be an error message of
some sort when a post does not go through, be it a time-out or some other
failure.

The problem may well be that you're trying to post to a server you either
don't have permission to post to, or you've not configured correctly.

Since you can post to Supernews, and since the Microsoft groups are
available through Supernews, (I've personally verified this while composing
this response) there isn't any need for you to bother with the other
server anyways.
