DW <dw0lf@xxxxxxxxxxx> scribbled:
Hello All,
Beginning 10/26, "Refresh Headers Special" (Ctrl+F5) in Xnews acts
strangely. The "Retrieved" window is mostly light blue. I've never
seen anyting other than red or green (or black for blank) in any of
the three windows ("Retrieved", "Read", or "Killed"). Also, I am
unable to retrieve any headers or articles in some NGs even when I
manually reset the "Retrieved" window to blank and set the "Start",
End", and "Get" numbers to span all the headers in the NG. It doesn't
matter which radio button I select among the four "Action" options.
When I conclude use of "Refresh Headers Special" by pressing Enter, I
get a duplicate of the one header Xnews retrieved on my previous visit
to the NG. IOW, in an NG that shows hundreds of headers in the
"Refresh Headers Special" screen, only two headers appear in the
retrieved list of articles, but these two headers are actually
duplicate copies of the same single header.
Previous to yesterday, I have been using Xnews for several years
without any problem like this. I am (and have been) using Xnews
version 2006.08.24 and WinXP Home SP2. I reloaded a fresh copy of
Xnews, but it acts the same as described above.
BTW, I have lurked on this NG several times in the past, but this is
my first posting here.
Thanks for any help.
