I'm one who did because of your asking for an email reply. If
you don't know, that's a major violation of usenet etiquitte.

http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/usenet/dont.html

The main reason is there are always lurkers and others who may
benefit from the answer(s) to your question and if it's emailed
they can't see it, a much less popular reason is that if the
reply isn't posted any mistakes in the reply can't be corrected.
Another - and for me the most important - reason is that it wastes
the time of all-but-one of the respondents.
Next time anyone asks for an email response let's all go to email
and figure out 5 or more responses and email them to the OP
but..... let's make all of those 5 or more responses incorrect!
<GD&R>
Make that a Google Groper, and I'm in. Well, except for the part
that I won't see it. But I'm in in spirit. ;)
Doesn't the spirit get diluted underwater?
Sure, but these highly evololved and supersensitive gills make up for
the dilution quite [hic] nicely.

Um... I'm not sure, and maybe it's better left unmentioned, but perhaps
I should apologize for peeing over the side of the boat the last time I
went salt-water fishing?

There /was/ a high alcohol content in the copious quantities of the
referenced fluid if that makes any difference...

Maybe some things are better left unknown...

Which ocean?

Which time? And should I include "Seas"?

[Ex USAF, 10 duty stations in 22 years, various temporary duties in many
places and vacations... I got around a lot--I didn't go fishing in all the
listed places, in some I went swimming. I was in the water and, well, I
was already wet... so I figured I should include them.]

Atlantic off Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, and Spain.

Gulf of Mexico off the coasts of Florida and Texas.

Mediterranean off the coasts of Italy, Greece, and Turkey.

Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas off the coast of Italy (Tyrrhenian off Sicily
too).

Pacific off the coasts of California, Hawaii, Guam, and Japan (didn't make
it to the west coast to the Sea of Japan.)

Yellow Sea off the coast of Korea (Seoul area, not sure if it's still the
yellow sea in the south off Pusan--that one could maybe count as either
the Sea of Japan or Pacific).

I always wanted to make it to New Zealand and Australia but so far I
haven't.

If you went swimming off the coast of Italy that could cause any number
medical problems. I spent 3 years in Naples and never once thought of
going in the waters of Italy even though we were 200 yards or so from the
water.
