Doesn't that prove that the newsreader in question can at least suppress
that header line?
It certainly *does not* prove that the newsreader in question is
ready for prime time. It does indicate (strongly) that /action
should be taken/ to fix the situation.
It proves that the beta can do so, albeit unintentionally. It doesn't
prove that it can't handle References. In fact, articles posted with the
last stable version, 2.67, do include References.
I proves that the beta you are using contains a show-stopper bug
that should be addressed ASAP.
