I should've put a smiley in there with that post, I now know.

I almost knew there had to be something to it, but it appeared as if you
were cross.

My apologies for the vent.

*Note* you cannot add subsequent conditional lines to this score
without a leading "~". If you do, the score becomes an "AND" condition
and will fail or not work as expected to. For example:

Score: =-5555
Message-ID: 4ax\.com
~From: Fred|Martha|Julie
Subject: Betty Crocker|WMD

Would not work as both the Message-ID and Subject headers make it an
AND condition, not a NOT condition.

That is: if you are blanket KF'ing Google Groups posts under [.]

Then if you wish to exempt certain NGs from this KF you will need to
use the "~" conditional score exactly in the manner of:

[.]

Score: =-9999
Message-ID: googlegroups
~Newsgroups: programming\.group1|programming\.group2|etc

Just to be sure I understand correctly.

1. I can only have two keywords for it to behave as an OR.
2. And the 2nd one *had* to be the tilde prefixed one.

An example of #1.

Score: =-9999
Message-ID: googlegroups
From: ihatethisguytoo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
~Newsgroups: blah\.blah\.blah

That is *not* allowed, right?

Furthermore, if I was to use a score like this under [.] I would also,
and depending on the types of GG posts that go to these programming
groups, create another score specifically for that group as well.

Building on my initial example; that is:

[^my\.particular\.programming\.group$]

Score: -50
References: googlegroups

Score: =-9999
Message-ID: googlegroups
~From: Gerry|Fred|Onslow|Johannas|etc|etc|etc

The -50 score to pick up responses to GG posts made in the group you
are reading, which gives you a good indication as to what the original
GG OP was like and allows you to add them to your "~" piped list.

I like that idea. Thanks for it! This would help me identify the bright
ones rather than allow them all.

Again, I apologize since you apparently meant no ill-will.

I appreciate your patience.

Dare I say "noted and archived?" :)
