Thanks, it helps. Time will tell, as I said, I had it under

It'll work for as long as that person keeps that nice well behaved
MID, until then, enjoy.

OK, copied, pasted, reloaded, didn't work, Blinky's still here! Oh,
wait, he's not the one we're trying to get rid of, is he?....
nevermind....

Well he hasn't swum into that other group yet either AFAIK ;-) Give
him time.

I realise that you have a KF on Groupers. But for this group I
recommend that you add an upscore to this NG for followups on

So far I've only found one GGer I wanted to respond to but it seems
he's either committed hari-kari when he got the estimate from the
shop or he got it fixed. That's the one I excepted, I'll leave it
for awhile longer and then delete it.

Yes. Unless you KF all responses to GG posts in References somewhere,
you will see followup replies made to them. This has always been a
bad/good thing in my experience, as the replies are either going to be
responses to spam etc or will be a good response to a genuine inquiry
or general posting. So if you don't KF Groupers on References also,
having an up-score on References at least alerts you that a followup
reply to a Grouper has been made.

As for me, I don't kill replies to Google Gropers; I don't want to
empower them to poison threads or thread branches. That's like handing
a retard a loaded shotgun.

During the short period of my lurking in that group, I was under the
impression it has a high-ish proportion of GG posters, that very few
of them presented a problem, and were just ordinary posts for that NG
IMO. Having the up-score will give you some indication also of the
amount of traffic coming into that NG originating from GG.

As for me, my "home group", if you will, has a lot of GG posters. By
and large, they are clued. I don't care -- I'm still not going to
encourage the use of Google Groups by whitelisting anyone who uses it.
A couple of them sometimes post from GG and sometimes post with a real
news client. I don't care -- I'm still not going to encourage the use
of Google Groups by whitelisting their GG posts; when they post with a
real news client I'll treat them as I do any non-GG poster, i.e., I'll
see and respond to their traffic.

When a vetegerian swears off meat, he's not just turning down a
particular steak; he's refusing to take part of a while process/system.
The Usenet Improvement Project, similarly, is about the bigger picture,
and is not limited to just the individual pieces of Google Meat.

I suppose I should work that analogy into the UIP page. Most of the
disagreement I get from the Google Gropers - which of course I sometimes
do see as its quoted by non-Gropers - is pouting or anger that I'm not
seeing *their* posts. Wahhhh! While I doubt that any of them have
actually *read* the UIP page (it's long and I use some polysyllabic
words) it's true that the page as she's writ has more focus on the
posters than the overall GG miasma that makes Google Groping possible.
That might also make things clearer for the non-Groper Groper apologists
that don't see the bigger picture.

Upcoming project! :)
