Exactly--what usually happens is I notice I start to see folks I generally
enjoy reading, in FUs (but not as OPs). I then either score the newsreader
(or that particular OP) back up, depending on the nature of the trolls.
I started doing this (outside GoogleGrope) years ago with the Linux groups
and comp.lang.fortran. I found it so useful (to me) it's my defacto policy
now.
This is not so much political as practical for me. I just don't have spare
time for all the noise on Usenet, and this filter works. For me. :)
