Background detail:

Lunarpages doesn't limit me in terms of the forwarding / alias
accounts that I can have, so I can have a very small number of email
accounts with my domain and a very large number of alias / forwarding
accounts pointing to them.

This is important for me because I'm going to try to go thru life
without resorting to the usual discardable email addresses (even
though things like Sneakmail let you get quite creative if you want
...)

I will be handing out different alias accounts to different people
that I deal with -- one for each vendor pretty much. As soon as the
spam starts coming in, that will tell me exactly who is selling my
info or whose system has been cracked. It will also let me cut them
out of the picture without bothering everyone else with new email
update requests.

In order for this to work well, my vendors should only ever see me
replying to their emails with ONE email address -- the same one I
issued them when I signed up for an account at their web site.

Right now I have to look at all the headers and see which address they
sent the email to, and then use only that address in replying to them.
As you can imagine, this is tedious and easy to overlook on my part.

So what I am looking for (I guess) would be an event script that
would, upon opening the compose window, look at the senders original
"To:" address and drop that same value right in the "from" field on
the outbound message.

Sorry that was so long winded, but if you know how this might work I'd

On the contrary, it was nice to see an OP that clearly outlined the
poster's wishes and the reasoning behind them, expressed in actual
English As She Is Written...and mentioned in the Subject header what
software was involved.
