I can't get this script to work...

I did what was written on
http://www.40tude.com/dialog/wiki/index.php/ScriptFetchByInterval

I deleted the part reguarding 'GetNewHeadersInSubscribedGroups'.

Why did you delete that "part"?

The mail is not checked. If I do it manually it works. Scripting is
enabled.

Anything to do?

Did you compile the script?

Compile, compile... Yes, it looks like it's working now! I thougth it was
enought to restart the application... ;)

Did you set the timer to the interval you wish it to be?

I set it every minute. Is it too much?

No. Unless each download of headers is so vast that it takes longer than
one minute. You may run into performance problems, with it constantly
checking. *shrug* Your rig, your pipe.

Again, why did you delete the line about getting the ng headers?

Because I don't want my database to increase too much.

You can compact the database.

I'm subscribed too
many groups, but I read only few of them in a period of time. I download
also bodies with headers. The fact is that I generally don't purge groups
to keep threads I may want to read again, but I should actually change
strategy and use more the keep command that now I use only for very
important messages.

Downloading all bodies, when you only read a "few of them in a period of
time" seems rather a waste to me, of time, bandwidth and hdd space.

I *had* asked the question, because it seemed possible that deleting the
line had borked the script. Did you notice the "timer enabled" line? If you
set timer2 to "false", it won't check for new NG headers. It's far better
to utilize the switches provided, than to delete lines from scripts. ;)

Is it possible to give a score to just a message, without creating a rule
for the poster? Because I'd like to distinguish between very important
messages and messages that I keep only for having a readable thread.

Did you bother to read the section of the help file that deals with
scoring, or take some time to look at the examples provided?

Thank you for solving my problem.

You're welcome. A bit of reading on your part, and there most likely
wouldn't have been a problem. ;)

Glad you got it fixed.
