Okay, whaddaya do with that? It looks like it should go in my_hooks.sl,

Put it either in an existing macro file or create a new one, make
sure you include the line "interpret file.sl" in your .slrnrc
file.

I did both, and for the try at saving it as muttview.sl, in the
directory with my other macros (pointed to in .slrnrc) I included the
interpret command in .slrnrc. Nothing worked.

If you have changed nothing CTL + t (NOT UPPERCASE) should open mutt as
I have done the exact same thing with the exception of the name of the
file. The UPPERCASE threw me off, in gnome terminal CTL + SHIFT + t =
new tab in my terminal so I thought it wasnt working either. For giggles
I left off the shift and Voila.

I changed the keybinding to ^o (as a memory aid, since Save is o).

Make sure the key binding isn't superseded somewhere else with
another binding or macro.

Wasn't. Naturally, I tried the keybinding I wanted, live, first, to
make sure it did nothing.

Heh, I hadnt thought of doing that Doh!

Then you either need to eval the macro from within slrn with
"ctrl-x esc" to get to commandline interpreter, then type
"interpret file.sl" or just exit slrn and restart it.

Many tests, all with restarts.

If that doesn't work, something else is going on, let me know.

If you were anyone else, I'd ask if you changed the mutt mailbox
path from the one I posted to suit your setup, but I'm sure you
would've done that ;)

Of course. When I run it with an -f switch it works fine from a console
and from the desktop shortcut I created for it. Just not within slrn.

Odd, only thing I can think of is the UPPERCASE.

I'm not using uppercase.
