When I reset my normal NewServer to: NNTP =
"secnews.netscape.com" I get "411 No such group" even for
common groups.
Common groups where? It only carries moz/ns groups. Telnet in
on port 119 and do a
list
command to see the groups it carries.
Maybe I missed something here. But the old secnews server should
answer only on port 563. It carries only the old Netscape private
groups, not to be confused with the news.mozilla.org server. The
moz server carries the current Moz groups.
secnews.netscape.com and oldnews.mozilla.org are both aliases of
ripley.aoltw.net (204.29.187.156). Connecting on port 563 gets you
the Netscape groups and connecting on 119 gets you the old Mozilla
groups.
