Hi, Thanks for your input (including other post)

I did mention that this error has been re-occurring for the last few
updates, not just in this one.

I seem to have narrowed the problem down a little.

I no longer think it's an Xnews issue at this stage, as the problem
seems to occur only with one server I use, (I have about 5 I use on a
regular basis). Perhaps this server's .newsrc files have become corrupt
I'll try deleting this server and re-introduce it to Xnews fresh to see
if this will help cure the crashes.
