[Xnews] Access violation errors (continuing)

Xnews 2006.08.24

I am frequently getting Errors:

"Access violation at address nnnnnnnn in module 'XNEWS.EXE'. Read of
address nnnnnnnn".

"nnnnnnnn" changes with each crash.

Closing the 1st error dialog, it then displays an error message "Out of
system resources" and crashes Xnews inelegantly.

This same condition has been happening on a fairly regular basis since
installing Xnews 2006.03.14 (or thereabouts).

Operating System, Win 2k pro.

This condition occurs when I start a fresh Xnews session and double-
click onto any of my subscribed group names in the Groups pane.

My workaround (if I remember to) is to refresh the header count for all
subscribed groups before I attempt to 1st open a group for reading,
this seems to stop this crashing. I don't have to refresh the groups
headers for each time I change to another group, only the 1st time
before reading the 1st group I choose to read.

But I am finding it a little frustrating. So if anyone has seen
anything similar or knows of a fix, I would appreciate knowing about
it.
