This was interesting. I did a compact and the virus checked said that
msg4.dat contained file 00009128.EML that contained the Trojan
VBS/Psyme. I thought file types of .eml were email messages? I use
Dialog only for usenet. It does not surprise me that it was detected
on compact since the files are all copied and hence scanned.
I am surprised that the file was not detected by my virus checker when
downloaded by Dialog. Any thoughts on that? I'd hate to think Dialog
would let a virus slip in undetected??
Undetected? Since when did Dialog become a virus checker?
I think he mis-stated the last part of his question. Above he says:
I am surprised that the file was not detected by my virus checker when
downloaded by Dialog.
I think after that he meant to say:
I'd hate to think <my virus checker>
would let a virus slip in undetected??
Of course, this is Usenet, so who knows ;)
