Tune in to news.software.readers again next week when you'll hear Mick say:
Just realised that my vertical scroll bar has gone awol and that I have
acquired a horizontal scroll bar, which is causing the trouble, as
when I try and move the columns left the horizontal scroll bar moves
right and the column stay in the same place!
Now, what I need to know (g) is how to get rid of the horizontal scroll
bar and get back my vertical scroll bar. Then presumably I CAN
move the columns to where I want them.
Any ideas?
Normally the horizontal scrollbar only appears when the columns displayed are to wide to fit the message tree pane and moving it should of course move the columns. If that's not the case, then you might try toggling some of the columns off to see what happens. Default (I think) six columns are displayed: flags, number, subject, author, date and lines. You can switch display of those columns on and off with the appropriate checkboxes in Tools | Options | Message Tree. Try those to see if you can re-establish normal behaviour.
If this doesn't help, try asking in the xananews.support at talkto.net. The folks there are more expert than I am.
