Can I have yours? Pan doesn't do any spellchecking here, and I don't see

LOL! So we have very closely related problems...
Could it be some Gnome system-wide spell checker? Going back to check...

FWIW, I'm using KDE. :)

And interesting thread found in:

Where a person has no way of running gtspell in GAIM under KDE with what
he thinks are all of the required dependencies installed

The solution (below) to his problem is on page 2 of the above link.

You'd actually need two aspell packages installed (as well as gtkspell and
dependencies), aspell and the libraries for your language. If you want
English that's aspell-en (at least in Slackware). If you don't have the
language libraries installed, spellcheck won't have anything to check
against.

andrew@jabberwock:~$ ls /var/log/packages | grep aspell
aspell-0.50.5-i486-1
aspell-en-0.51_0-noarch-1

Hope this helps :)

EDIT: Some programs may require gnome-spell also, but I don't believe
gaim is one of them.

That was it. Its not a GTKspell dependency, its not an Aspell one, etc.
Its not even listed as a GAIM dependency, and theres no docu on this. But
I guess now there will be as Im going to email them right away to tell
them to put it on their site. :D

gnome-spell made it work on my fresh install without gnome.
